As Pre-Construction Manager/Estimator, you'll play a critical role in shaping each project from the start. You'll be responsible for generating detailed and accurate cost estimates, coordinating with vendors and architects, and helping guide projects through the pre-construction phase. You'll be the connective tissue between design, pricing, and execution, and your insight will directly influence project success.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare thorough cost estimates for custom builds, renovations, and additions
  • Review architectural plans and translate them into accurate material and labor takeoffs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing
  • Ensure the scopes of work are complete and aligned with project goals
  • Collaborate closely with the construction team to support feasibility and schedule planning
  • Identify cost-saving alternatives without sacrificing quality or vision
  • Assist with budgeting, bids, and construction cost tracking reports
  • Uphold and model Supple Homes' mission and values in all client and vendor interactions

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience estimating in custom residential construction, preferably in the Bay Area
  • Strong ability to interpret construction documents and architectural drawings
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with local vendors, building codes, and construction processes
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, BuilderTrend, and Microsoft Office
  • Clear, confident communicator with excellent negotiation skills
  • Team player with a growth mindset and strong alignment with our company values

Compensation & Benefits

  • This is a full-time, in-office role based in Menlo Park, CA. Candidates must be local or willing to commute to job sites and meetings within a 10-mile radius.
  • Competitive salary range at $85,000 to $120,000 based on experience.
